Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala and Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz were outstanding during the German national team’s 5-0 thrashing of Hungary.

Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann had a prime view of the action and was thoroughly impressed.

“Jamal has undergone a great transformation over the past year in terms of his presence in the penalty area. He’s become exceptionally good at that. Before the Euros, there was a slight criticism of this outstanding player, which was that he didn’t get into the box often enough. During the tournament, he was very good, but today he was phenomenal,” Nagelsmann said (as reported by @iMiaSanMia).

Nagelsmann also told Sky Sports journalist Kerry Hau (as reported by @iMiaSanMia) that both Musiala and Wirtz have something extraordinary about them.

“Both have the potential to win the Ballon d’Or,” said Nagelsmann.

The manager also took the opportunity to give credit to Arsenal’s Kai Havertz.

“Kai has made significant progress over the past two years. He has the potential to be world-class in several positions. He covers a lot of ground and has become very astute,” Nagelsmann said (as reported by @iMiaSanMia). “Sometimes he’s a bit unlucky with his finishing. The vice-captaincy suits him well. He’s an intelligent person, very thoughtful, and very humble. I hope he continues to have faith in himself.”
