Since the start of the NHL pre-season going into the 2021-2022 season, the Seattle Kraken are quickly becoming a worthy contender after beating the Vancouver Canucks 5-3 in their first ever game during the pre-season.
The
Seattle Kraken became the newest team in the league since the Vegas
Golden Nights, who debuted in the 2017-2018 season.
Since
then the Kraken have scored 195 goals.
But
they've only won 14 games which is a let down, but for a brand new
team it's a good start.
The
formation of the new team was delayed by the Covid Pandemic effecting
sports in America, so their planned debut season of 2020-2021 had to
be cut and forwarded to the 2021-2022 season instead.
Home
fans at Climate Pledge Arena have enjoyed this newest edition to
Seattle's sports scene along side: NFL's Seahawks, MLB's Mariners,
Football's (or Soccer in America) Sounders, and ARD's Throttle
Rockets.
No
sign on if NBA's Supersonics would be returning however.
But
others have said that the Kraken would soon go the way of other defunct NHL
teams, notably the Hartford Whalers, Atlanta Thrashers, and Quebec Nordics.
Due to them
entering the sport at an inopportune time for cash revenue in the
wider world of sports.
The Kraken face the Calgary Flames for a rematch following a devastating 4-1 loss against Calgary, the match takes place on Wednesday at 2pm (Mountain Timezone).
