Barcelona Rule Out The Signing Of Brazilian Winger Due To 'Less Experience'

This is due to the fact that Ousmane Dembele is likely to leave the Blaugrana this summer having spent five years in the Camp Nou.

Barcelona were also rumoured to get Antony Dos Santos from Ajax however, they preferred his Leeds counterpart to him and have now ruled out the winger’s incorporation.

According to a report relayed by SPORT, Barcelona’s reasons for choosing him have nothing to do with his price.

Their market values are both around €40 million. The reasons are entirely based on the sporting aspect of things.

Raphinha is seen to be the better option because of his experience in the Premier League. The Brazilian has extensive experience in one of the best leagues in the world.

As for Antony, he has only starred in the Eredivisie and a handful of matches in the UEFA Champions League.

This is far from the level that Barcelona want, as they desire only players who can immediately enter their dynamics.

The Ajax man would need some time to adapt, time which Barca cannot afford.

When the two have had to compete for a spot in a starting eleven, it is Raphinha who has come out on top.

In the Brazilian national team where the two have had to compete for the same position, the Leeds forward has overcome Antony as well as Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison.

The readiness of the players is the principal reason why Barcelona have a preference for Raphinha.
