Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has expressed confidence that he can fend off interest from rival clubs and retain Oliver Glasner following the Austrian’s historic FA Cup triumph with the Eagles.
Crystal Palace Chairman Steve Parish Vows to Keep Hold of FA Cup-Winning Manager Oliver Glasner

Glasner’s stock has soared after masterminding Palace’s 1–0 victory over Manchester City at Wembley on Saturday. With several Premier League clubs – including Tottenham Hotspur – potentially in the market for a new head coach this summer, the 49-year-old is expected to attract significant attention.
However, Parish struck a defiant tone when discussing Glasner’s future, making clear that he expects him to remain in charge for the foreseeable future.
“Look, he will stay here for some period of time,” Parish told reporters after the final.
“He’ll be here next year, and then we’ll take it from there.
Of course I want him to stay longer, but things happen in football, and clubs evolve and move on.
I’d love him to stay, but the club’s got to develop behind him, and the club has to show ambition in terms of what we want to do to move it forward, for people to feel part of something.”
Glasner, who took over at Selhurst Park last season, is under contract until the summer of 2026. Asked whether the club was preparing to offer him fresh terms, Parish confirmed that discussions had already taken place.
“We’ve been talking about it,” he said.
“For Oliver, it’s not about the things people might assume.
Oliver wants to be part of something that’s going in a clear direction – and that’s the same for all of us.
I think that’s what we’ll discuss. Before a final is not the time for those talks, and immediately after isn’t either.
But somewhere down the line we’ll sit down and see how we all feel.
Oliver will be here next year – everyone knows the length of his contract. Beyond that, we’ll talk. It needs to be right for everyone.”
Palace’s FA Cup win – their first major trophy in the modern era – was sealed by a superb goal from Eberechi Eze and a crucial penalty save from goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
Speaking after the match, England international Henderson was full of praise for Glasner.
“He’s phenomenal. He’s fantastic. This guy is a different class,” said Henderson.
“When we were struggling at the start of the season, he was quite easy on us. The better we actually do, the harder he is on us.
He was hard on us this week – very demanding, because we’ve been in good form. He knows how to treat his lads. He’s phenomenal.”
Henderson also touched on the club’s long-term ambitions, citing a conversation he had with Parish at the time of signing.
“When I signed, the chairman spoke to me about a team he wanted to build – he even mentioned adding a new stand to the stadium,” he said.
“He needs the players to build that stand, and now we’ve got the manager to build it too.”
