Barcelona have reportedly entered the race to sign highly rated RB Leipzig and Germany youngster Assan Ouédraogo.
Barcelona Join Arsenal and Liverpool in Pursuit of RB Leipzig Wonderkid Assan Ouédraogo
According to Sport Bild, the Catalan club have joined Arsenal and Liverpool in monitoring the 19-year-old’s development and have already dispatched scouts to watch him in action.
Ouédraogo has enjoyed an impressive start to the season, registering three goals and four assists in 12 appearances for Leipzig. His performances have earned him a call-up to the senior Germany squad, further enhancing his reputation as one of Europe’s brightest emerging talents.
Despite Barcelona’s interest, it remains unclear how strongly they intend to push for his signature. With Dani Olmo and Fermín López already competing for similar roles in midfield, the club may face questions over squad balance and priorities.
Reports in Spain suggest Barcelona’s main transfer targets for next summer include a full-back, a left winger and a striker — all dependent on the club’s financial situation, which continues to be closely monitored under La Liga’s financial controls.
RB Leipzig signed Ouédraogo for €10 million last summer and now stand to make a substantial profit should Europe’s elite clubs make formal approaches at the end of the campaign.
