Google Adds 24 New Languages To It's Translation Database

American tech giant Google announced that 24 new languages will be added to their popular Google Translate service.

The 24 new languages are as follows in alphabetical order:

Assamese

Aymara

Bambara

Bhojpuri

Dhivehi

Dogri

Ewe

Guarani

Ilocano

Konkani

Krio

Lingala

Luganda

Maithili

Manipuri Meiteilon

Mizo

Oromo

Quechua

Sanskrit

Sepedi

Sorani Kurdish

Tigrinya

Tsonga

Twi

These languages are set to be implemented within a week, helping millions travailing to account for more isolated language groups.

A combined 300 Million people across the Americas, Africa, and Asia speak these obscure tongues.

Google has stated that: “We are committed to promoting everyone's native language, from commonly spoken languages like English and Afrikaans to the obscure such as Xhosa and Piraha”.
