Will Smith Slaps Chris Rock Live On Stage At The Oscars After He Made A Joke About His Wife's Alopecia

Actor Will Smith apologized for smacking Oscars host and comedian Chris Rock after he made a joke about Will Smith's wife.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Men In Black star won an Oscar for his roll in King Richard, a movie about famous women's tennis star Serena Williams, where he played her father Richard Williams.

His wife, Jada Pinkett Smith has Alopecia: Where hair falls out in clumps resulting in perpetual baldness, it's the number one cause of female baldness across America and Europe.

Chris Rock made a joke about it at her expense and that motivated Will Smith to go up and smack the comedian and star of the Madagascar movie franchise.

Will Smith apologized to Chris Rock, The Academy, Producers, Attendants, Viewers at home and around the world, but most of all to the Williams family who were shocked by the incident.

The slap heard around the world overshadowed the Oscars and Will Smith's best actor win, with the internet already flooded with memes pertaining to the incident.

Chris Rock announced that he wouldn't press any charges on Will Smith, saying that he'd learned from his mistake.

Alopecia and Female Baldness groups went on Twitter and Facebook to congratulate Will Smith for standing up for his wife and condemned Chris Rock for the joke, saying that “You don't have to apologize for anything Will, Chris Rock deserved it”.
