The Eagle Has Landed Author Henry Patterson Has Died Aged 92

The man who wrote the source material for the classic Michael Cain movie, The Eagle Has Landed, passed away aged 92 surrounded by friends and family on the Isle of Jersey.

Henry Patterson, under the pseudonym Jack Higgins, wrote over 85 novels from 1959-2017.

His most famous work, The Eagle Has Landed, is based on a real Nazi plot to kidnap then prime minister Winston Churchill. 

It was the inspiration for the 1976 movie staring Sir Michael Caine, Patterson also consulted fro the movie.

The cause of death has yet to be announced by his family.
