Various Regions Including Milan Are Slated To Be Hit Hard Be The Recession Of The Po Rover, Affecting Millions Of Italian Crops Just Before Harvesting Season.

The Italian government has declared a state of emergency in Northern Italy, as the Po River experiences it's worst drought in 70 years.

Italian Prime Minister, Mario Draghi, has stated that: “The state of emergency is aimed at managing the current situation, with extraordinary means and powers.

Further measures will be taken if the situation doesn't improve.

Climate Change is defiantly the cause for this, as well as the glacier collapse and avalanche yesterday in our section of the Alps, which took the lives of seven people and 13 are still missing”.

Concerns were raised by farmers after they found that salt water from the Adriatic Sea is seeping into the river, killing crops across Milan.

Effected regions have been given 36.5 Million Euros (£31 Million or $38 Million) to tackle the water shortage.
