Philippe Clement has reaffirmed his commitment to Rangers as he welcomed the clarity provided by Nils Koppen's promotion. Koppen was appointed as the club's technical director this week, having joined Rangers from PSV Eindhoven in January as director of football recruitment.

Koppen, who previously worked alongside Clement at Genk, will continue to oversee the club's transfer strategy. He will now also assume overall responsibility for the men's academy, medical, football operations, performance, and analysis departments.
This appointment brings some much-needed stability following the recent departures of chairman John Bennett, chief executive James Bisgrove, and director of football operations Creag Robertson.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s William Hill Premiership fixture with Dundee United at Ibrox, Clement said: "It's important that decisions can now be made. The past few months have been unusual, with a kind of vacuum at the club.
"With people stepping into interim roles and assisting in that manner, and also with the search for a new chairman and CEO underway, the club has been supported. However, it became clear, especially with Creag’s departure, that we needed someone to make decisions in the short term, not just focus on the long-term.
"So, Nils will assume several responsibilities that Creag previously held. But it’s also a role he was already performing, alongside me, dealing with short-term matters that needed to be changed or addressed at the club.
"There are always numerous tasks to manage, with staff, infrastructure, and other areas. It’s positive that we now have clarity in this regard.
"It’s been an intense period, and there is still a lot to be done. But it’s good that there is clarity now, and everyone has a clear role.
"Some matters that have been added to my responsibilities in the past couple of months shouldn’t fall to a manager in any club, anywhere. In that sense, this change will certainly help me."
Clement was recently linked with the role of Belgium head coach following the appointment of his former Club Brugge CEO, Vincent Mannaert, as sporting director of the Belgian Football Federation, amid a poor run of results under Domenico Tedesco.
The former Monaco manager dismissed the speculation surrounding the reports.
"I don’t want to comment on rumours about players, so I won’t address rumours about these matters," he said.
"But I have been very clear that I committed myself to Rangers for the long term, and I am not going to change my mind on that. I think that is quite clear."
Clement was dealt a blow this week when Neraysho Kasanwirjo sustained a knee injury while playing for the Netherlands Under-21s.
The injury is yet to be fully diagnosed, but the on-loan Feyenoord defender is expected to undergo surgery and face a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
"We’ll likely have more updates over the weekend, but it is certainly a long-term injury," Clement explained.
"It’s really unfortunate because he had been adapting very well to the club and to the mentality here. He had shown promising performances in matches and training, displaying the right quality. So, this injury is a big setback for all of us."
