Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky has thanked the Czech Republic for it's surplus tanks and infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) after the train carrying them from the Czech Republic to Ukraine via Slovakia arrived in western Ukraine safely.
The
Czech Republic is the first and so far only NATO country to give
Zelensky the heavy firepower he's demanded since March.
The
successful delivery of Czech tanks come as Russia launches it's new
offensive in the eastern regions of Ukraine, where the tanks are
destined to go to counter Russian armor pushing on the Ukrainian
positions.
It is hoped by Zelensky and the Czech Republic that this will put pressure on the US and UK to hand over their surplus tanks and jets, following Poland's failed attempt to give Ukraine old Migs via a US air base in Germany.
