Lloyds Bank have announced that they're closing their last branch in St Mary's located on one of the Isles of Scilly, a group of islands near Cornwall.
Lloyds
Bank are the last bank to close in the island chain following the
closure of a Barclays branch 4 years ago in the same chain of
islands.
Public
polls stated that more and more islanders are using ATMs and the Post
Office to withdraw money than the actual bank.
The
now former location of Lloyds is to turn into a Post Office.
Residents
of the Islands that may need to do in-person banking will now have to
catch a flight or take the ferry to Cornwall, as the Lloyds Bank in
Penzance has taken hold of the now closed location's responsibilities.
