Nigeria Commander goes missing after a deadly ambush

The Nigerian military has begun an all hands on deck operation for a unit commander. He disappeared after a plenipotetiary he was piloting was attacked  by gangster in the state of Taraba.

The authorities established that not less thany six soldiers, one anti-riot police officer and six gangster were confirmed dead during the  confrontation that followed the attack on Tuesday.

The escort came under cross fire as they journeyed to the Takum area to restrain collective fight between farmers and nomadic herders, according to the authorities.

The military commander leading the security forces then disappeared  during the clashes.

There are concerns he might have been apprehended by the gangster .

In a declaration the pointperson for the Nigerian military asserts a hunt for the missing officer has began.

It’s uncertain who conducted the attack. But armed gangs abducting  people for pay off  function in the region.

The fanatic group Islamic State West Africa Province had acknowledged it conducted a fatal air bombardment  assault  the previous month in Taraba  which is a state the militants had earlier  exempted in their years of armed fanatic in northern Nigeria.
