Agatha Kanziga Habyarimana Denied Appeal Request Over Rwandan Genocide

Parisian courts have yet again denied an appeal by former first lady of Rwanda, Agathe Kanziga Habyarimana, to overturn genocide charges after the 1994 Rwandan Genocide.

Agathe was also a founding member of the Akazu Clique, an elitist Hutu organization that secretly ran Rwanda via Agathe's husband Juvenal Habyarimana who was assassinated during the genocide

The Rwandan Genocide of 1994 was the targeted killing of Tutsi minorities by the Hutu majority that resulted in the deaths of between 500,000 and 800,000 Tutsi, the result of a long standing history of Tutsi oppression of the Hutu spanning back to German Colonization in the 1850's and up to independence from Belgium in 1962.

She is considered by many a war criminal and will continue wasting away in a French jail for her crimes.

Rwandan president Paul Kagame stated that: “I welcome France's decision to keep that demon from the country's past locked up”.
